Components and Wheelbuilding:
I offer full component builds at very competitive prices, but they are only available to hang on a Cicli Polito frameset. Individual components are available.
Occasionally people would like specify vintage components. If you are interested in obtaining some new-old-stock parts along with your frame, or if you already have a certain something that you'd like me to build around, I'll be happy to honor your request. The same goes for newer boutique items, and I particularly enjoy offering track-specific components and custom one-offs.
Complete component assembly - $100
Headset and Bottom Bracket install only - $25
I can ship the frame directly to your preferred local bike shop or mechanic, or straight to you if you prefer to build it up yourself.
Custom wheelsets are available, and all wheels are built in-house, right in the Cicli Polito kitchen. Wheelsets vary greatly in cost
depending on hub and rim choice, so please enquire for more specific details.
Custom wheelset with frame purchase - cost + $50/wheel labor
Tied and soldered spokes for Track wheels - $50/wheel
Finish
There are two options for finishing your frame, wet paint and powdercoating. Wet paint is the smooth, hand-sprayed elegant paint job you think of on so many classic, beautiful bikes. Panels, lug lining, box lining, pearls, and masking are the traditional hallmarks of a good quality wet paint job. If you are after a show quality finish, wet paint may be for you. All Cicli Polito frames are painted by master frame painters. Wet paint begins at $450 for a single solid color frame and fork with a contrasting logo mask.
Powdercoating is a more recent development for finishing your bicycle. It is generally less expensive than a quality wet paint job. Powdercoated finishes are extremely hard and durable, and they do not necessarily have to be clear coated as wet paint frames do. I recommend powdercoating for bikes that are more subtle in color and style, and/or for bikes that take a beating. For intricate color combinations, masking, and other elaborate flourishes, I usually suggest wet paint. Powdercoating begins at $250 for a single solid color frame and fork with a logo decal.
Finish prices, whatever your choice, vary greatly in cost. When we are discussing paint, I will give you an exact quote based on what you
would like. The options really are endless.
